I hit the road again for work again and, as usual, I felt some minor travel stress. I did an okay job on the eating front, somewhat following my version of Primal/Paleo eating. I had a long layover between flights and I used that time to walk around the airport and, as a result I exceeded my goal of walking 5 miles.

The rest of this week is very busy, so not sure I’ll be able to post much. In the mean time…

After a decent night’s sleep, I woke up with some stress as today I had to travel to the court house for jury duty. Most of the stress revolved around the possibility of telling a judge I needed to travel for business Wednesday to Friday and how that would be received. All the stress was for not because I was never called to be part of a panel and spent the entire day sitting in a chair. The downside is that I did not come close to hitting my steps goal for the day. Now I could have hit the gym or taken a walk in the evening, but for some reason the motivation to do anything had left me. Funny how sitting in a chair can exhaust me!

Did fairly well on my eating with a salad for lunch and leftover chili for dinner. I hope everyone’s work week started off in a positive fashion and, as always…

I know I go on and on about how important sleep is to me, but I’m going to say it again! :) Last night I logged nearly 10 hours of sleep and I woke up ready to conquer the world. As I do every day, I used my Ketonix ketone breath analyzer to see if my body was still in a ketogenic state. I was quite curious because I estimate I had consumed well over 300g of carbohydrate yesterday, but the device showed me in ketosis despite the abundance of carbs.

My eating today was both bad (leftover Chinese for lunch) and good (a salad from Chipotle for dinner). On the exercise front, I finally made it to the gym, and also hit my walking goal as well!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and, as always…

I had a very early flight this morning, so the travel “stress monster” tagged along, as usual. Despite waking up before 4am to head to the airport, I nearly hit my goal of eight hours of sleep. I did a fairly good job of sticking to my version of Primal/Paleo eating with a Chipotle salad for lunch, and another salad with some wings for dinner.

I am staying right next to the Florida State University and I took a walk in the evening along the edge of the campus–what a beautiful place!

10-12-2015-stepsBack to work and a day full of meetings and then jumping on a jet for more travel for work. Woke up feeling stressed–travel does that to me–despite over eight hours of sleep. I managed to stick close to my version of Primal/Paleo eating with a salad for lunch and a decent dinner of beef, potatoes, and vegetables. Good day for walking as I managed to hit my goal of 5 miles!

I hope everyone’s work week started out nicely and, as always…

I’ve heard sitting is the new smoking, so I’m guessing driving over five hours today is probably not great. :) Woke up early and drove to a meeting in Orlando, then late in the afternoon left Orlando and drove to Miami for a meeting tomorrow. Consequently, I didn’t come close to my step goal, only getting in 5,446 steps.

As I suspected, the doughnut frenzy yesterday kept my body out of ketosis according to my early morning test. My goal this week is to return to a ketogenic state and get back to burning fat!

Monday typically means stress and today was no exception. Very busy day where I didn’t make time to make and eat good food. For lunch I had leftover BBQ and dinner included a stress-induced donuts feast.

My weekend splurging took me out of ketosis this morning,  and I anticipate today’s diet will probably keep my body out as well.

The good news today is I definitely got my steps in today!!

What’s nice about a three day weekend when Monday is the day off is hump day arrives quickly! Got a decent amount, but not a full eight hours, of sleep and woke up in a good mood, ready to tackle the day.

I pretty much stuck with my version of Primal/Paleo eating with the exception of digging into a bag of chips. :( I’m pretty disappointed in my movement, logging less than two miles of walking–too much time in front of the computer for work.

The weekend is rapidly approaching which means FOOTBALL–as always…

Monday Blues

I’ve done a fairly good job of dealing with work stress lately, but last night I started feeling the dreaded Sunday night work stress. Had a little alcohol to try and relax to get fall asleep. The good news is I slept pretty well and woke up feeling great. My eating fell in line with my version of Primal/Paleo and I somehow hit my target of walking five miles throughout the day despite not making it to the gym.

I made it through Monday–hope you did too–and, as always…

Not Great Stats

As good as my stats were yesterday, today was not great. With only about 6.5 hours of sleep, I neglected my water intake, ate fast food, and didn’t come close to my steps goal. On top of that, I should have hit the gym after work and just didn’t feel motivated, so I skipped it.

Tomorrow can only be better so, as always…
