Workout: December 5, 2015

I really wanted to get this workout in on Friday after work, but I just didn’t feel motivated, so I postponed it until today. Glad I did because I was able to pull 330 lbs. on my third attempt! My deadlift weight is moving up, slowly but surely. In addition to DL, I did some standing barbell overhead presses and pull-ups.

Great lifting session today and, as always…

Workout: November 11, 2105

Sometimes I leave the gym unsatisfied with my performance, but today I left feeling good. The plan today was to execute the Wednesday StrongLifts Advanced workout featuring deadlifts and standing overhead press with a side order of pull-ups. I managed to workout at a time of day where the gym wasn’t packed and I think that fact helped me as I wasn’t waiting for a rack and I could take my time and properly rest between sets (without feeling guilty about hogging a rack).

Punished Myself In The Gym

Workout: November 6, 2015

After a week of bad dietary choices, I punished myself in the gym today with barbell squats, bench press, Pendlay rows along with chin-ups and pull-ups–all part of my StrongLifts Advanced program. As I’ve mentioned, the squats are getting heavier and tonight I felt a little pain in my right knee, but it faded by the end of the session.

What a fantastic workout–I paid the price for a bad week of eating. As always…

Finally, A Workout

Workout: October 10, 2015

After a week on the road I finally got back into the gym today. I did some squats and bench press, then threw in dips, chin -ups, and pull-ups.

It really felt great to lift–as always…

Workout: September 24, 2015

I had to travel Monday through Thursday this week so this is the first workout of the week. I tried to do the Monday workout for Week #6 of my current StrongLifts Advanced cycle including squats, bench press, and Pendlay rows. By the end of the bench press, my shoulder was pretty sore so I skipped the rows. Likewise, pull-ups weren’t in the cards either.

Given my travel schedule this week, I’m glad I got a workout in–hope you did too and, as always…

Back In The Gym

foam-rollerAfter a week of rest and staying away from the gym to let my sore hip heal up a but, I got a workout in tonight. I spent a bunch of time foam rolling and stretching before lifting, then did Pendlay rows, bench press, and some pull-ups and chin-ups. Not squats just yet–still a little sore.

Feels good to get back in the gym–as always…

Finally Back In The Gym

My work schedule finally allowed my to get back in the gym tonight. I restarted Week #8 of my StrongLifts Advanced cycle and tried to do the Monday workout for the week which would have been squats, bench press, and Pendlay rows. I ended up not having enough time for the rows :( but I did manage a few sets of pull ups.

Got The Workout In Early

Some things shifted in my schedule this morning and I was able to get to the gym early today–a rarity for me. I started Week #8 of my current StrongLifts Advanced cycle which included squats, bench press, and Pendlay Rows, plus I added some pull-ups in for grins. The weight is getting heavier, and I missed a rep on my last set of bench press and I completely failed the working weight for Pendlay rows.

Pulling Iron

It’s the middle of Week #7 of my current StrongLifts Advanced cycle do today my lifts featured the deadlift and standing overhead press. I through in some weighted pull ups as well.

My schedule allowed me to get to the gym early–I really miss my old morning workout routine! Saw lots of friends I haven’t seen in months–great time.

Back On Schedule

After traveling last week, I’m happy to get back on schedule with my workouts. Today I started Week #7 of my current StrongLifts Advanced cycle which featured squats, bench press, and Pendlay rows. I did the usual warmup of foam rolling, stretching, body weight squats, and front squats. I also did some chin-ups and pull-ups as well.
