Decent Eating Day

chipotle-menu_salad-rawOther than snacking on chips in the afternoon, I did a pretty good job of following my version of Primal/Paleo eating today. My usual for lunch (eggs, bacon, potato and a green smoothy) and then a Chipotle salad (no rice, no beans) for dinner, consumed while watching Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. I managed to skip the Chipotle chips and guac which is exceedingly hard for me! 😉

I did hit the Celsius energy drink as well as BCAAs in evening before my workout as usual.

I hope your hump day is going well and, as always…

Good Choices

Woke up feeling pretty good this morning after getting a good night’s sleep–less stress as the weekend is approaching. Got back to my routine of eggs, bacon and a potato for lunch with a green smoothy (love my Vitamix). I made a good choice for dinner as many times my son and I treat ourselves with Five Guys. Instead, I got a salad from Chipotle (no rice, no beans, double meat).

The weekend is nearly here and I’m ready to recharge–as always…

Green Smoothy Is Back

green-smoothy-featuredI got back to my version of Primal/Paleo eating today with a green smoothy for lunch and leftover pork chops, cauliflower grits, and baked potato for dinner. Much better than chips, candy, and wine (yesterday’s stress eating). I’ve been consistent with my intermittent fasting–I think this helps me stay in a ketogenic state (despite not always choosing optimal food).

Single Dad (For A Few Days)

I’ve been Mr. Mom for the past few days as my wife has been out of town on business. One of the kids stayed home from school sick today. Very busy day for sure. After staying up late and watching the Tampa Bay Lightning win in overtime, I ended up only getting about 6 hours of sleep and my stress levels are high. :(

My first meal, which I ate about 2pm, included another green smoothy made with my awesome Vitamix–the best blender on the planet! Then I ended up getting my sick son and myself fast food for dinner.

I’ve been consistently in ketosis for well over a month–I’m a lean, mean fat burning beast!

The long weekend will be here shortly so, as always…

Paleo-ish Eating

Woke up a little sleepy and stressed this morning–not enough sleep last night. Darn good thing I’ve got liquid energy, in the form of all-natural Celsius, to kick start my morning. :)

greensEggs, bacon, and a green smoothy (made with handfuls of home grown greens) for lunch, and chicken, baked potato and steamed broccoli for dinner. I managed a complete day of eating according to my version of Primal/Paleo–yay!

Feeling healthy today, hope you are too–as always…

Green Smoothy Returns

Back in town after a weekend of travel and it felt so good to make and consume a green smoothy (thanks to my trusty Vitamix)! I woke up feeling that Monday morning work stress, a common occurrence these days :( I wanted to work off some of said stress, but I ended up cutting my evening workout short–just not feeling it.

I hope your work week started in a positive fashion and, as always…

Sunday, Rest Day

Woke up refreshed and feeling great after another night of catch up sleep. I got some work done in the morning and then attended my son’s swim team banquet in the afternoon.

I use this beast to make my green smoothies.

A complete day of physical rest. Despite having my first meal at the banquet, I pretty much followed my version of Primal/Paleo eating plan. My son requested a green smoothy and I got to use greens from my new hydroponic setup!

I hope your weekend was great and, as always…

Some Good Food, Some Not

I caught up on some much needed sleep last night and woke up feeling good. I had a fairly good meal at noon including a green smoothy then, after my workout, had a splurge dinner from Five Guys 😀 !!

Enjoy the weekend and, as always…

Primal/Paleo Eating Day

Remedy for my slight hangover :)

Got a decent night’s sleep last night and woke up feeling pretty good. I did have that third glass of red wine last night and, believe it or not, I could feel the some slight residual hangover symptoms–nothing that a quick dose of caffeine didn’t fix!

This is the Vitamix 6300 which is the model I have.

I had a very busy day running the kids to swimming practice and dance rehearsal while working on this web site and doing some gardening in between. In keeping with my daily intermittent fasting ritual I had my first meal at around 1pm: eggs, bacon, a potato along with a green smoothy chocked full of spinach, kale, banana, apple, strawberries, celery, cucumber and lime. Super easy to make with my Vitamix! Ended the day’s eating around 7pm with leftover bratwurst and broccoli with another baked potato.

My diet today stayed right in line with my version of Primal/Paleo eating–delicious and highly nutritious, real food minus the refined sugar, grains, and processed food I aim to avoid.

I hope you are enjoying the weekend and, as always…

Eggs Then Eggs, Is That Wrong?

Thursday has become a tough day for me schedule-wise. For my first meal I had one of my usuals: eggs, bacon, potato, and a green smoothy. After a long day of work and then playing taxi service for my daughter, I ran out of time to cook, so I had eggs again for dinner! :)  Net result, my eating today lined up with my version of a Primal/Paleo diet. Some might be concerned with all that cholesterol, but I love saturated fat and I’m not afraid of cholesterol!

I had a late meeting and ended up going to be after 11:30pm which is a few hours after my preferred bed time–I need to figure out how to get more sleep.

Looking forward to Friday and then the weekend–as always…
