Yesterday I talked about stress eating–today is about celebration feasting. My daughter has been involved in dance since she was three–that’s about 13 years! This weekend started the “competition” season and today I got to see her perform several dance numbers–I’m so proud of her! As time flies by, I realize the opportunities to watch her perform become less and less, so I celebrate these competitions.
What the heck does this have to do with my food consumption? Well today I celebrated my daughter’s dance by feasting on some food I don’t really want to eat on a daily basis. My personal eating philosophy provides flexibility and I do feast at times, in times of celebration and in times of stress. A little flexibility goes a long way for me because in order for a long term eating strategy to be viable, it can’t be too strict, otherwise I know I’ll fail.
I hope you are celebrating something this weekend–as always…
