Special Day, Skipped Cake

Today is my daughter’s 16th birthday! I’m in a state of shock when I think my little girl can legally drive a car 😉 In our house it seems that birthdays become less of a “spectacle” the older the kids get. School, homework, and going to dance rehearsal all continue despite today being my little girl’s special day. Consequently, we left the house at 6am for the bus stop and she did not arrive home until after 9pm–not a whole lot of time for celebration. :(

My wife did have a special dinner and a cake for her which was nice. I managed to skip the cake, mostly because, in keeping with intermittent fasting routine, I ate my final meal a couple of hours before the cake cutting.

Otherwise my food choices were mostly good, with the exception of eating too many corn chips with the leftover guacamole and buffalo chicken dip. Staying away from grains, including corn, is quite difficult for me. I certainly did not consume the leafy greens I had intended (but I did take my daily supplements).
