New Week, New Month

Goodbye November…we are in the home stretch of 2014, already! :) My grandparents used to try and describe how the older they got, the faster time seemed to go by and I remember having a hard time understanding that concept. My concept of time was based on a series of “life steps,” like, “I can’t wait until _________.” Fill in the blanks with steps like:

  • I can drive.
  • I graduate from high school.
  • I graduate from college.
  • I get a “real” job.
  • and on, and on, and on…

Now that I’m older it’s unbelievable how right my grandparents were :) and how fast time seems to fly now! Don’t get me wrong, I still measure time in life steps :) …like, I can’t wait until ____________:

  • I can retire from my “real” job.
  • I can travel the world.
  • I can learn Spanish for real.
  • I play more golf.
  • and on, and on, and on…

But I digress :) –welcome to December. The good news is I started the month off with a great workout, so the day started with my daily ketosis test and, yes, I woke up in a ketogenic state, keeping my string alive. I took my daily 5g dose of creatine and then drank my all-natural, energy drink and BCAAs on the way to the gym.

The rest of my intake pretty much followed my Primal/Paleo eating pattern (with the exception of the last piece of Thanksgiving pie). This week I hope to drop my “bad” carbohydrate consumption which should drop my weight back toward my goal–stay tuned!

I hope your week started with a workout if your plans call for one and, as always…

Be smart in the kitchen and a beast in the gym!
